Susan is excited by the fact that through Inventory It! she can help her clients protect their precious personal property. We all work very hard for the things we own and we have a level of attachment that makes us very sad when these personal items are lost, stolen or destroyed. She has personally experienced her favorite earrings, among other things, stolen in a home burglary, her mother's home and its contents ravaged by a flood and a friend's kichen being destroyed by a fire. She has also experienced the devastation of dividing up marital property in the process of going through a divorce. From an estate perspective, she has inventoried the contents of her mother's home so that she and her sisters will already know how the estate will be divided. Hopefully this will eliminate any additional stress concerning the division of her mother's property at the time of her death. It is so much easier to inventory these items during the good times because when you are in the middle of any of these difficult events you do not want to have to try remember what you own!
We all know we need a home inventory but its usually not a priority until it is too late! The idea for creating a personalized home inventory service arose when Susan was visiting with some friends at their second home in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her friend, Sherie made the statement that she really had no idea what she had in which home and since the second home was often offered to friends, family, employees and customers, she was concerned that some of her valuable pieces could be lost, broken or even stolen and she would not even realize it. She needed an inventory for both of her homes but it was a task that overwhelmed her and it was a service that she would be willing to pay for if it was available.
Being business-minded people and entrepreneurs, they recognized that there was a need and the discussion moved into developing a business that provided the services to meet this need.
While the idea was conceived in 2002 under the name of Professional Home Inventory Services, Susan continued to work as a consultant while she developed the inventory business processes, website, marketing collateral and business identity. In 2006, she felt the time had come to give birth to this service that is so needed by virtually everyone who owns anything and to give it a new name and fresh approach, thus Inventory It! came to be!
CREDENTIALS: Inventory It! suits Susan's passions, her experience and her talent. She has always loved photography and even back in the mid 90s, she was one of the first purchasers of the digital camera. Susan is a very detailed-oriented person with 20 years of experience managing very technical projects and developing efficient processes. She views each inventory as a unique project with unique requirements but the processes that she has developed to support these projects, makes even the largest challenge manageable.
This business was developed as a true walk of faith! As a Christian, Susan gains her strength through her belief in Jesus Christ and she especially finds strength in this passage in the Bible:
